Grouting Methods CFI Uses to Repair Foundations in Ft. Myers, Gainesville, Orlando, Jacksonville and All Other Florida Cities

grouting methodsCertified Foundations Inc. (CFI) uses a wide range of grouting methods to help residents, businesses and municipalities throughout Florida ensure that their structures have stable foundations. Whether you need to stabilize soil for construction excavation, fill sinkhole voids, prevent water intrusion or solve any other type of foundation-related issue, our company has the equipment, the products and the training needed to perform grouting with careful attention to detail.

At CFI, we believe it is important for customers to understand the various grouting methods that we offer, so they can feel confident that their foundation issues are being properly addressed. A few of the many types of grouting methods we provide include:

  • Deep compaction grouting – This process is among the most common grouting methods used for repairing foundations in Florida, as it can effectively remediate sinkholes. The process injects large bulbs of low-slump cement grout under pressure that fill voids and stabilize soil by compressing it into stable columns.
  • Permeation grouting – Similar to compaction grouting methods, this process involves injecting low viscosity grout under pressure into the soil to increase its stability. However, while compaction grouting forces soils to compress by displacement, permeation grouting actually flows through the soil particles forming larger, solidified masses as the grout congeals.
  • Microfine Permeation Grouting – An adaptation of permeation grouting, this process uses a microfine cement to decrease soil permeability, providing “watertightening” that’s ideal for sealing off high-permeability backfill. Since this process creates zero spoil and can be performed easily in restricted access areas, it can be performed with little interference to surrounding activities.
  • Cementitious grouting – Also commonly called slurry grouting, this process fills voids and pores throughout rock and soil with a mix of flowable cement that won’t permeate or displace the surrounding soil. Cementitious grouting methods are notable for their ability to reduce water flow, making them ideal for applications such as pipe bedding, void filling and abandoned line filling where water intrusion can be an issue.
  • Polyurethane grouting – Relatively newer than other grouting methods, this process is commonly used to prevent water intrusion around joints, pipes or subsurface walls and slab sealing. Many of these grouts also expand, which can be used to lift uneven sidewalks, driveways and other slabs back into level positions.
