This dream retirement home turned into a nightmare when the owners learned that substandard fill had been used prior to construction. A geotechnical report conducted prior to a pending room addition substantiated the condition. Both structural underpinning and pre-construction helical piers for the 2 story addition were recommended to assure no future settlement problems would occur. CFI was selected by the homeowners to complete this delicate project based upon their 20 year history of excellence in the foundation industry. A total of 18 resistance piers were installed to an average 18’ depth.
