S&E RenovationsThis 30 year old, 3 story beach condominium located in Venice, Florida was under renovation when it was discovered that there were crucial footings missing from the structure. Interior load bearing CMU walls on the first floor were sitting on 4” slabs with no footings. This was discovered during demolition work, when a drywall section in what was supposed to be a non-load bearing wood wall, was knocked out and the second floor concrete slab dropped over ½”, causing all work to stop. After examining the situation, the engineer of record designed a remediation plan utilizing helical piers with low profile brackets to support the load bearing walls. This eliminated the necessity of rebuilding the interior slab, saving the contractor both time and money. What complicated this job was the interior shoring that was necessary to ensure the safety of the CFI workforce, leaving very little room for the installation equipment. With 20 year experience, CFI’s professional installation team had seen this before. With the use of a portable drive stand, able to work in very tight spaces, the installation was quick and efficient.

“We are so grateful and satisfied with all the work you have done for us. Everyone that we have associated with from CFI has been wonderful, friendly, knowledgeable and hard working. Thanks so much!”

“I want to give special thanks for the great job that was done. I never saw three men work so hard, and I must say they left everything just as it was before the job started. I would recommend them to anyone who needed their service. Thanks CFI for a job well done!”
